FAQ
Why is part of the bottom of the soap dishes white?
Our soap dishes are made of ceramic—specifically stoneware—which is fired at 1220 degrees Celsius. The color or glaze is applied by dipping and wiped off again on the underside before firing. This is necessary so that the soap dish doesn't stick to the firing plate.
We have ordered blue splatterware twice. Why do the two soap dishes look different?
Each of our soap dishes is handmade. The glazes we use are subject to slight variations depending on where they are placed in the kiln or how thickly they are applied to the fired soap dishes. Each soap dish is one of a kind!
Will the soap dish scratch the sink?
Due to the manufacturing process, the bottom of the soap dishes is not glazed, which may result in a slightly rougher surface area. However, we believe this is unlikely to cause scratches during normal use. We have tested it and found that even if you rub the soap dish against the porcelain washbasin with full pressure, it is difficult to cause scratches. Nevertheless, we advise against repeating this!
My sink is so small, will the soap dish still fit?
We kindly suggest taking a quick measurement to determine if the soap fits, as it is likely that the soap dish will also fit. While the size of soap bars can vary, most are approximately 8 x 5 cm. ROCKY M. is 9 x 6.5 cm, which makes it a perfect fit. For larger soap bars, we recommend the ROCKY L. soap dish, which is twice the size.
